Maspalomas Golf Course was designed by Mackenzy Ross in 1968 and is located in the resort of Maspalomas. Maspalomas which is in the south-eastern part of the Gran Canaria Island is amongst the sunniest parts in the world. Maspalomas Golf Course features a contemporary two-storey driving range where one can reach over 300 meters. Mackenzie Ross has taken the surrounding dunes into consideration while designing the layout which has resulted in this 18 hole, par 73 course being a very long and even golf course with extensive, wide paths. On the days when it is very hot, you will feel cool with the mild and cool sea breeze and trade winds which caress the course, making your round of golf a memorable experience.

Several prominent international golf competitions like the two PGA tour events in 1995 and 1997, which were won by Jarmo Sandalin and José Marie Olazábal from Spain, have been hosted by Maspalomas golf club. The club offers a driving range, practice green, instructors, shop, restaurant and snack bar.

It is not possible for the visitors to play on bank holidays and Saturdays, Sundays. You must carry your playing license or handicap certificate for enjoying a round of golf here. The long course has some deceptive approaches to the greens which are well-bunkered. Maspalomas golf course begins with a mild par 4 measuring 367m which offers you a good opportunity of getting to a great start to your round of golf and you can manage a par or if lucky, a birdie. Be cautious, as the par 4 next hole is sure to test your golfing skills. One of the interesting holes is the par 3, 10th which is quite gentle at 140m but you will feel very different when you reach the tee. The tee shot will have to be carried over a stretch of water and there are trees on the right and left, leaving you no room for inaccuracy.

The flat topography of the course offers golfers an opportunity to practice different types of shots without having to climb or go downhill as the game progresses.
